About Me
I grew up in northern Michigan in a home that valued curiosity, joy, and learning for its own sake. I was home-educated alongside my four older siblings, surrounded by books, music, mathematics, and language. This environment shaped who I am, how I think, and how I work.
With a bachelor's in French and Francophone Studies from the University of Michigan, I began my professional life as a French-to-English translator. While this work had its joys, the freelance translator life was not for me, and I ultimately decided to pursue various interests while paying the bills with a job waiting tables, in the hopes that eventually one of my hobbies would develop into a passion.
Fast-forward to April of 2019, and I was teaching myself Python while working as a Customer Support Represenatative at Wisely, a restaurant tech startup based in Ann Arbor, Michigan. At the time, I had no idea that this job would inspire a lifelong love of building software, or that it might open new career doors I had never previously dreamed of. But now, five years into my data career, I can confidently say that I am embedded in a world of building, continuous learning, and system design; I get to serve others by supporting stakeholders and clients, and I belong to a remarkable community of data professionals who inspire me every day.
My Approach
I tackle problems by understanding them deeply, designing clear solutions, and iterating with care. I document my work thoughtfully, build reusable systems, and enjoy helping others understand complex concepts.
What I'm Working On
I'm constantly exploring new ideas in data engineering, building internal tools, and creating example projects that others can learn from. My goal is to be a resource for fellow engineers while growing my own skills.
